Wheatland Express Purchased By Award-Winning Coach Company
In a world of expansive corporate buy-outs that change the way a company does business, it’s nice to know that in some alliances, the fundamentals of a great business do not change. That’s why Wheatland Express of Pullman, Washington is proud to announce its new owners, Starline Luxury Coaches—a Seattle-based company that has staked it claim as the largest woman owned motorcoach company in the U.S. with extraordinary customers service, luxury equipment and an unrivaled commitment to the environment.
Although Starline Luxury Coaches is the new owner of Wheatland Express, the Wheatland brand will remain intact. “We wanted to make sure the community knows that we are here to grow on the foundation Wheatland Express has built in the market. The community knows and loves the brand and we are proud to be a part of it moving forward,” said Glady Gillis, CEO of Starline. “We will continue to offer all of the transportation services Wheatland has offered for the last 18 years in the area and we are excited to add some new service like our Weekend Shuttle to Seattle, as well as adding some more smaller equipment to meet the needs of groups with fewer people in a cost efficient fashion.”
By hiring the existing staff and drivers loyal Wheatland Express customers can be assured that although there has been a change in ownership, they will continue having a consistent experience.
From a business perspective, the change in ownership was a perfect match. Wheatland Express and Starline Luxury Coaches share a common goal of world class customer service, luxury transportation services, and a business model that embraces sustainability and protecting the environment. Starline Luxury Coaches has been a leader in this regard and most recently received the United Motorcoach Association’s Green Highway award, a prestigious commendation reserved for only one motor coach company yearly that demonstrates the highest standards of sustainability in practice. Starline has also been the recipient of the Metro Magazine Operator of the Year award; the Washington Business Association’s Environmental Excellence award; Seattle Magazine’s Top 50 Green Businesses award; and the Greater Seattle Business Association’s 2012 Business of the Year award.
“We are pleased to be passing the reins to such a great company. We have loved working in this market and are so pleased to see a company the caliber of Starline so excited to be working here as well,” said Peg Motley, former owner of Wheatland Express. Motely emphasized, “We know there is no one better to meet the transportation needs here than Starline. They are the very best in the business.” Starline’s President, Becky Pritchett noted, “We are very excited to be expanding on what has already been built in Pullman and we will be unveiling new services over the next few months that should add value to our new community.” With new ownership and an expanded outlook, Wheatland Express is now set to join Starline, as it leads the industry in providing safe, reliable passenger transportation solutions for diverse group transportation needs. Whether it’s corporate travel or a day of sightseeing for a group of friends or relatives, Wheatland Express can ensure the journey is as enjoyable as the destination.
